An official reception was organized on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

On November 13, 2025, an official reception was held on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

The event, organized by the Representation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in Baku, was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to Azerbaijan, Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün, advisers of the Embassy, members of the Azerbaijani Parliament, state and government officials, representatives of diplomatic missions of foreign countries accredited in Azerbaijan, representatives of non-governmental organizations, including a delegation headed by the Chairman of the Board of ATİB, Mürsəl Rüstəmov, as well as cultural and artistic figures, media representatives, and businesspeople.

At the opening of the official part of the event, the Head of the Representation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in Baku, Ms. Ufuk Turqaner, congratulated the people of Azerbaijan and the heroic Azerbaijani Army on the Karabakh Victory achieved five years ago, stating that the glorious Victory of the Azerbaijani people, united under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, is a great source of pride for Northern Cyprus. Ufuk Turqaner noted the effective activities of inter-parliamentary friendship groups and emphasized the importance of respect for law and justice for peace and stability in the South Caucasus. She highlighted that the Turkish Cypriots are becoming stronger with the support of their state and Türkiye, and that the main guarantee of their legitimate rights in the Eastern Mediterranean is the strong policy of the Motherland.

Chairman of the Azerbaijan–Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Inter-Parliamentary Working Group, Cavanşir Feyziyev, stated in his speech that Northern Cyprus is resolutely continuing its struggle for independence for the sake of peace and security. Emphasizing that Northern Cyprus is one of the important symbols of the struggle for unity and freedom in the history of the Turkic world, Cavanşir Feyziyev noted that the country is developing with the continued support of Türkiye and contributing to regional stability. He also pointed out that the waving of the Northern Cyprus flag at international events is a clear example of Turkic unity and solidarity.

After the speeches, the event continued with a reception.
