On January 23, 2026, the opening ceremony of the “New Horizon” social project, implemented by HBN Group LLC with the support of SOCAR Midstream Gas Operations and the South Caucasus Pipeline partners, took place.
The event was attended by representatives of government institutions, private companies, and non-governmental organizations, including Mursal Rustamov, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan-Turkey Business Association, as well as heads of orphanages and boarding schools.
In his opening speech, Polad Rustamov, Executive Director of SOCAR Midstream Gas Operations, stated that the “New Horizon” project is an important component of the company’s social responsibility approach. He emphasized that every young person, regardless of social status, has the right to equal development, and that the project transforms this right into real opportunities by contributing to the development of young people’s professional skills and their integration into society and the labor market.
In her speech, Indira Hajiyeva, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, highlighted the importance of the project in strengthening social protection of young people, creating equal opportunities, and developing cooperation between the public and private sectors.
Representatives of partner organizations and relevant state bodies also delivered speeches at the event.
The event then continued with panel discussions.
Finally, roundtable discussions were held to define concrete steps for supporting the project.
The “New Horizon” project covers 80 young people aged 15–18 who have lost one or both parents or are deprived of parental care. Within the framework of the project, participants will be provided with vocational training in office management, sales and cashier services, culinary arts, and graphic design, as well as practical employment opportunities and psychosocial support. The project will be implemented over a period of 10 months.
