A commemoration and wreath-laying ceremony was held at the Baku Turkish Martyrs’ Memorial on the occasion of Çanakkale Martyrs’ Day and the 111th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory.

On March 18, 2026, a commemoration and wreath-laying ceremony was held at the Baku Turkish Martyrs’ Memorial on the occasion of Çanakkale Martyrs’ Day and the 111th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory.

The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Azerbaijan, Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün, embassy staff, Turkish businessmen operating in Azerbaijan, representatives of educational and scientific institutions and the public, as well as a delegation led by Mursal Rustamov, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan-Turkey Businessmen Union.

At the opening of the event, the Çanakkale martyrs were commemorated, and the national anthems of the Republics of Azerbaijan and Turkey were played.

After laying floral tributes at the memorial in the Turkish Martyrs’ Cemetery, the ceremony concluded with a visit to the Martyrs’ Alley.
