On March 12, 2026, a meeting titled “State and non-state partnership in the field of migration: cooperation mechanisms and prospects” was held at the Office of the State Migration Service on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of its establishment.
The meeting was attended by members of the Public, Advisory, and Migrant Councils operating under the State Migration Service, including Lamiya Bayramova, a member of the Board of the Azerbaijan-Turkey Businessmen Union.
Welcoming the participants, Chief of the State Migration Service, 2nd rank State Migration Service Counselor Vusal Huseynov provided information on the work carried out in cooperation with international and local partners, achievements, and new challenges in strengthening progressive migration management in the country. He noted that modern migration management is not limited to the responsibility of state institutions alone, but also requires joint efforts of public organizations, the private sector, and migrant communities.
Later, discussions were held with the participation of council members on improving existing dialogue mechanisms, prospects for inter-council cooperation, more effective application of the “whole-of-society approach” in migration management, and ways to address existing issues in this field.
At the end, participants’ questions were answered.
