On April 29, an event titled "The Development of Entrepreneurship is a Strong Economy", dedicated to Entrepreneurs' Day, was held with the support of the Ministry of Economy, and jointly organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan.
The event was attended by senior officials of relevant government institutions, representatives of business associations, entrepreneurs, including Mürsəl Rüstəmov, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan-Turkey Business Association (ATIB), and representatives of the ATIB Secretariat.
In their speeches, Mikayıl Cabbarov, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Anar Əliyev, Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population, Azər Əmiraslanov, Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship, Anar Quliyev, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, Bahar Muradova, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children's Affairs, Sahib Məmmədov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, Orxan Məmmədov, Chairman of the Board of KOBIA, Məmməd Musayev, President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan, and Ramiz İsayev, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Construction Manufacturers Association, emphasized the leading role of the private sector in ensuring sustainable economic development and employment in the country.
The speakers noted that the foundations for the development of entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan were laid by National Leader Heydər Əliyev, and that this policy is being successfully continued and adapted to modern challenges under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. They also highlighted that the legislative framework for entrepreneurship is being continuously improved, administrative procedures are being simplified, ongoing measures are being implemented to enhance the business environment, financial and institutional support mechanisms for entrepreneurs are being expanded, and various incentive and support measures continue to be introduced.
As part of the event, a documentary film highlighting the development of entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan was screened.
