On June 11, the DTIK Baku Meeting was held through the joint organization of the International Secretariat of TURKPA and the Azerbaijan Representative Office of the World Turkish Business Council (DTIK), with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Azerbaijan.
Organized as part of the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the First Turkology Congress, the event aimed to promote the cultural heritage of the Turkic world, develop approaches to economic cooperation, expand business relations, and strengthen cultural and economic integration among the Turkic states.
The event was attended by heads of diplomatic missions of the Turkic states, representatives of government institutions, Turkish entrepreneurs and non-governmental organizations operating in Azerbaijan, as well as Mursel Rustamov, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan-Turkey Business Association (ATIB), Alper Yaycılı, Vice Chairman of the Board, and members of the Association.
In their opening remarks, Barış Altıparmak, Head of the DTIK Representative Office in Azerbaijan; Ramil Hasan, Secretary General of TURKPA; and Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to Azerbaijan, emphasized the importance of strengthening political, economic, and interparliamentary cooperation in the Turkic world, the strategic role of the Organization of Turkic States, and integration based on common values.
Participants exchanged views on prospects for further strengthening cooperation and relations among the Turkic states.
The program also featured a concert by Azerbaijani composer and pianist Turan Manafzade, as well as an art exhibition.
