On June 16, an exhibition of illumination (tezhip) and miniature art titled “From the Past to the Future – Traditional Traces” was opened at the International Mugham Center, organized by the Yunus Emre Institute in Baku.

On June 16, an exhibition of illumination (tezhip) and miniature art titled “From the Past to the Future – Traditional Traces” was opened at the International Mugham Center, organized by the Yunus Emre Institute in Baku.

The exhibition brings together works reflecting the shared cultural values of Türkiye and Azerbaijan, with the aim of further strengthening the bonds of brotherhood between the two countries through art.

The exhibition was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to Azerbaijan Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün, Chairwoman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Family, Women and Children Hicran Huseynova, Deputy Chairwoman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Culture Günay Afandiyeva, Head of the Representation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in Azerbaijan Ufuk Turganer, embassy staff, Turkish businesspeople operating in Azerbaijan, representatives of academic and educational institutions and the public, including Mursel Rustamov, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan-Turkey Business Association, and the Association’s member Cemal Yangın.

In their speeches, Ambassador of Türkiye to Azerbaijan Birol Akgün and his wife Zöhre Akgün, Yunus Emre Institute Azerbaijan Coordinator Gökhan Seyhan, curator of the exhibition Zühal Alodalı, as well as members of the Milli Majlis, People's Artist Arif Huseynov and other officials noted that art serves as a cultural bridge between peoples and that such projects make an important contribution to the development of shared cultural values.

The exhibition presents original works by women artists from Türkiye and Azerbaijan in the fields of illumination and miniature art.

The exhibition will be open to visitors at the International Mugham Center for three days.
