On May 7, the First International Turkic World Economics Conference (ITWEC 2026), dedicated to Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation, was held at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC).

On May 7, the First International Turkic World Economics Conference (ITWEC 2026), dedicated to Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation, was held at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC). The conference was organized by the Faculty of Economics of the Turkic World.

The event brought together representatives of government institutions, senior officials and academic staff from higher education institutions, as well as Rafiq Garayev, Member of the Board of the Azerbaijan-Turkey Business Association (ATIB), and Cemal Yangın, a member of the Association.

In his opening remarks, Garay Musayev, Associate Professor and Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of UNEC, emphasized the relevance of the conference theme. He spoke about the application of artificial intelligence in education, the development of academic programs in this field, and the digitalization of teaching and administrative processes at UNEC.

Közhan Yazgan, Head of the Foundation for Turkic World Studies, highlighted the importance of UNEC's traditional conference in bringing together higher education institutions from across the Turkic world.

Providing detailed information about the conference, Dr. Yusif Aliyev, Dean of the Faculty of Economics of the Turkic World, noted that this year's event brought together scholars, researchers, and experts from various fields representing Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan.

Sabit Baymaganbetov, Associate Professor at the International University of Tourism and Hospitality of the Republic of Kazakhstan, spoke about strengthening economic integration within the Turkic world, expanding inter-university cooperation in the context of digital transformation, and promoting joint scientific initiatives.

The conference continued with panel discussions.
